The Setup

After a deposit is received, we'll book the date of your shoot on the calendar, plan the location, get a rough idea of clothing & sketch the outline of the concept we'll be shooting together.

The Shoot

Early is best. We generally will always need a little more time than we think we do. You can bring a friend if that makes you more comfortable & if they're incognito or willing to help.

Post Production

Editing is the most time consuming part of any shoot. Usually I sit down & block out time to complete all the edits & deliver via Dropbox. Most of the time I have a 2 weeks or less turn around time.

FAQs

Entertaining questions I get asked on the regular:
  • What's the investment for a session with Joseph?

Usually it's $300 for a personal session & it comes with 10-15 edited digitals delivered via Dropbox. If you would like to purchase albums, a canvas, or framed images, that can be arranged. A shoot is consider booked when I deposit has been received.

  • What do you shoot with?

I finally took the plunge into a Mirrorless DSLR. My weapon of choice is a Canon EOS R.

  • What's your favorite type of photos to shoot?

Honestly, I love it all. From events, to boudoir, to fitness & so much more. Capturing beauty & special moments is what's is all about. If I had to choose it would be the pieces that are a lot more involved & take a lot longer to complete... creative pieces. I have a few coming up, check back often. ;-)

  • How long have you been shooting?

I started with a point & shoot when I was a teenager & it escalated from there. I've developed photo collaboration events, shot for FanX ComiCon & more. Overall about 17 years. I started in 2003.

  • Where do you live?

I spend a lot of time in Salt Lake City, but mostly live & office north of SLC in the Ogden area. I usually bill .30 cents per mile as my traveling fee for anything over 50 miles.  It's just easier that way.

  • What if I don't know how to pose?

That's okay! Not everyone is an experienced super model! I actually love working with newbies. I might look funny showing poses, but I can & will. With your permission, I'll be helping fix hair, tuck clothing tags & reposition throughout the shoot.

  • What should I wear?

Honestly, it depends on what type of shoot. If it's fitness & you want grungy & rugged, go for it! If we're shooting Boudoir then sexy lingerie is fitting, or even less depending on your comfort level & what we're going for. End of the day, all I care about is that you're comfortable & not distracted with what you're wearing.

  • Can I bring someone with me?
Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.
  • Will you use my images on your website or social media?

Naturally I love showcasing me work, but I only show off what my clients are comfortable with. Some are okay with any & all of their photos being shared, some are okay with images that don't show their face & others are not okay with it at all. I always remember to make it a point to check first... afterall, these are your photos.
